El Segundo Public Library cards are free to California residents. To obtain one you will need to provide both photo identification and proof of current address.
Parents, to get your child a library card at the El Segundo Public Library, please bring your child, your picture ID, and your proof of residence to the Library’s Customer Service Desk. If they don’t already have a library card, children will receive one after enrolling in one of the four El Segundo Unified School District schools.
We accept any of the following as photo identification: a valid driver’s license, a valid California ID, or a US passport. For photo ID without a current address, you will need to provide one of the following: a current utility bill, a credit card statement, a rental property or tax receipt, current school documents that show your home address, or a car registration.
El Segundo Public Library cards are valid for two years and are renewable with proof of address. The Los Angeles Public Library and the Los Angeles County Library cards are not valid at the El Segundo Public Library.
Apply online or in person at the El Segundo Public Library.
